On March 15, 2024, the play “Con đò của mẹ” will be performed by artists and actors of the Public Security Theater at Ho Guom Opera. This event will be one of the activities to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and 68 years of tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Ministry of Public Security (1956-2024).

“Con đò của mẹ” is about the story of a family with a revolutionary tradition that made contributions and sacrifices for the homeland, from the resistance against the French colonialists to the struggle against the Americans and even during times of peace. Typical characters include Tham, a poor village girl (played by actress Thanh Mai), and Quang (played by actor Viet Tung). Due to his duty, Quang went to the South to operate in the enemy territory, leaving behind his young wife and small son.

Believing in her husband’s loyalty, Tham quietly struggles, endures all the hardships, and raises their child. Later, their son follows his father’s ideals, dedicating himself and making sacrifices for the cause of defending the homeland.

“Con đò của mẹ,” directed artistically by People’s Artist Nguyen Thuy Hien, the Director of the Public Security Theater, directed by People’s Artist Le Hung, and scripted by Meritorious Artist Bui Vu Minh, promises to bring beautiful emotions about the intelligence and security soldier and the Vietnamese heroic mother.
