SPRING FIRE: Concert welcoming spring at Ho Guom Opera

Spring Fire is a concert organized by the Sun Symphony Orchestra (SSO), with a special appearance by one of the world’s leading baritone singer - Vladislav Sulimsky. Besides, Soprano Dao To Loan also appeared, delivering an impressive performance with bold Vietnamese colors.
The Sun Symphony Orchestra (SSO) collaborated with Ho Guom Opera to create the exceptional program, “Spring Fire,” to welcome the New Year 2024. The show received much attention from classical music lovers right after it was announced because this was Vladislav Sulimsky’s first visit to Vietnam.
As a world-leading baritone artist, Vladislav Sulimsky has won many prestigious awards at international opera competitions and is highly appreciated by music enthusiasts for his performances. In 2009, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for his recording named The Nose with Valery Gergiev. Vladislav Sulimsky performed many leading roles at splendid opera stages around the world and this time, it was Ho Guom Opera.
Biblical Songs by composer Antonín Dvořák were excellently performed by Vladislav Sulimsky and the SSO. The audience had a chance to enjoy many other well-known masterpieces, such as Carnival Overture or Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 From The New World, composed at the same time as Biblical Songs.
Conductor Olivier Ochanine’s talented conducting of “Spring Fire” brought the audience emotional music. In particular, Soprano Dao To Loan, who accompanied artist Vladislav Sulimsky in this concert, performed a work by musician Van Cao, leaving a mark on Vietnamese music when accompanying international artists.
Topnotch music once again appeared in Ho Guom Opera, expressing the message: “The longevity of classical music in particular, and art, in general, will always shine like the theme of “Spring Fire.
